Practice beyond fitness trends

Traditional Hatha yoga in Gurgaon

A deliberate practice of preparation, posture, breath, attention and disciplined repetition—adapted to the person without turning tradition into a medical claim.

What “traditional” means here

Satv uses the word to describe a balanced teaching approach rather than a claim of one exclusive lineage. The Ministry of AYUSH Common Yoga Protocol includes preparatory movement, postures, breathing, meditation and a closing resolve within one sequence.1

Preparation

Arrive, observe and progressively prepare joints and attention.

Asana

Use posture as a teachable position, not a photograph or competition.

Pranayama

Introduce breathing practices cautiously, avoiding forceful techniques when unsuitable.

Attention

Close with observation, quiet and a practical commitment to consistency.

Japa and Tapa

Deepak Sharma describes his ongoing doctoral research theme as healing and wellbeing through Japa and Tapa vibrations. Within Satv's general classes, these may appear as optional contemplative and disciplined-practice ideas. They are not presented as validated cures or substitutes for clinical care.

Teacher scope

The Yoga Certification Board distinguishes general yoga education from yoga-therapy certifications.2 Satv therefore separates general Hatha practice from condition-specific specialist work and records the credentials that support each assignment.

No hot room, no compulsory advanced postures, no public performance ranking. Intensity is a programming choice, not proof of authenticity.
